  • Have you been without a job? Do you know someone who has been?

  • Palin - what does she mean for the Republican party? And why did she flip flop about the
sexist media - whether Hillary should have spoken out about sexism (No) vs her talking about
    sexist media (Yes).

  • Mammograms - If science shows that there is almost no medical benefit for doing
mammograms before the age of 50, should Democrats include the procedure in the
healthcare plan to counter Republicans cynically using it to scare people about coverage?

  • Are you kidding me?? No coverage for abortions in the healthcare exchange???  Really??? We're
supposed to go out and get supplemental coverage??? No matter if we end up married to a
crazy man who doesn't believe in either birth control or abortion, yet wants to have sex?
Even if there is birth control failure? Does anyone PLAN for an abortion?
  • The women least able to have a kid (earning less than minimum wage*, for example), least
likely to have employer-paid health-care coverage, and least able to afford birth control, are
now not going to be covered for abortions in the exchange?? They have to go buy separate
    coverage??
  • THIS IS NUTS folks! And everyone who had needed an abortion, or knows someone who
needed and abortion, understands this.... It's time to come out of the closet and deal with it
    folks!

  • Fort Hood massacre.  Florida massacre.  The Dr. Tiller killing.  Terrorism?  Alienation?
Religious?  Hopelessness?  What do they have in common?  What is different?  With
unemployment is such bad shape, will there be more of these?

  • What does it mean to be good?   And, should it be encouraged?  Or, does that make it a
career move, something you do like file your taxes or wash your hands in a public restroom?
British novelist Tibor Fischer talks about his new novel "Good to Be God."  Yup, it's about a
guy pretending to be God, a British guy no less, in Miami.  Who is trying very hard to be
good.  From a review in the Guardian:  "When was the last time you saw hardened drinkers
pass around a novel that asks some big philosophical questions?"
